140 mph speedo in '91 Z

Well, I have yet to find a new speedometer for my '91 Z28. I currently have the 110 mph speedo and want to upgrade to the 140mph one. I have checked with the dealership and they say the speedo is not available seperately and that Delco can do repairs, but not changes. Tried Camaro 1 and they don't have anything. I would even upgrade the whole instrument cluster if it came to it, but I can't find one. Any help?

well your best bet would be to try like thirdgenparts.com or a company like that and get a used one. Well another prob your going to run into is that the speedo will be off, so your going to have to find out the right gear combo to change in your tranny. Check the search engine or ask on the tranny board they can help you out.

ANOTHER PROBLEM I see here is you have the moon gauges if its an 91. I've just bought an 145mph speedo to replace my 110 speedo in my 89. No gears to change or anythign, its cable driven.

These ones turn up on ebay alot more often. But I saw a moon gauge 145mph cluster on ebay once. I clicked it cuase the title simply said 82-92 Camaro 145MPH cluster. I was saddened, but you would have been happy. Just keep your eye peeled. Search the net.

When you do the swap you will need the controller board, & the speedo. They seem to go in pairs.

Charlies auto salvage in Tomball Texas, they do have a website just look it up on google. Call them instead of looking up the part, you'll have better luck! A friend of mine just bought one there, they should have a couple more. KMK's camaro salvage in Dallas Texas has a TON of thirdgens also. I dont think they have a website though.

I have tried doing a search for both of those places in Texas and can't find anything. If anyone has contact info, phone number, etc for those places I would appreciate having it so I can call.

Thanks,

their number is listed on the site and I'm still looking for KMK's web site, when I find it, I'll post it. Charlies should have one or can locate one for you.

Eric,
How bad do you want one? I have a 91Z that I am wanting to put Autometer gauges in. It has the 145mph speedo and is electric. Send me an e-mail if you want it.
