I have a 1985 IROC 305 TPI that is red in color. The interior has grey seats and door panels with black carpet. I am wondering if the black carpet is correct or should it be grey? Also the drivers seat leans to far back, it seems the latch is broken is there a way to fix it or do you have to replace it? It has two bolts on the side of the seat but Im afraid to remove them as there is a mean looking spring that appears it could fly loose

i dont know about your color question, you'd probally have to find a site with the production numbers and such and check your VIN as far as the seats i think that it is a chronic problem in 3rd gens. i had the same problem with me seat. i think it can be fixed but if your gona put a lot of effort into your seats mite as well go to the junkyard and pickup some 4th gn seats, looks btter and more comfortable too.

 

The carpet should match the plastic and the seats.

The seats can be completely torn down without any problems, without knowing what part of your seats are broken it'd be impossible to tell you if they can be fixed.

 

Not necessarily true, I have an 83 T/A with black carpet & several black pieces with the Beige panels.
