Should car covers be tight, or a little loose

I just bought a car cover, and i was wondering should the cover be really tight against the car, or should it be a little loose to allow for movement ??? The underside is supposed to be "paint safe" with 3 layers of protection againt the weather. This is the first time my car will be outside for the winter, so im really very protective of it, any witerization tips would be very helpful !!!!!

get one of those car bags. it's like a car cover, but it completely encloses the car, even underneath. i've never tried it, but i heard they're great for keeping the weather out.

Mines pretty tight. As long as you bought I decent cover you shouldn't see any scratches. My car is all black and I haven't seen in scratching and my car spends 90% of it's life under the cover.

I think it would depend on what you are doing with it & where you are parking your car.

I prefer a loose cover because it is easier to put on & take off. BUT my car is inside & no-one is ever around it to disturb it but ME.

If your car was outside I would be concerned with the wind blowing sand & dust underneeth which could cause scratches as the cover moved from the wind. But you loose some of the breathing that might occur from having a loose cover.

I'm no expert on covers though...
