repainting wheels

once all the paint and clear is off, and the wheel is down to bare aluminum, how would i go about repainting the insets, and putting new clearcoat on the outside? i picked up a set of gold irocs, and the clear is peeling and i want them grey instead of gold. how should i prep the wheel, what kind of paint, and what kind of clear should i use?

I would suggest that you take them to a Power Coating shop and let them do it.

It's easy to paint over the already painted parts, but since you already took it to bare metal it will be tougher. I know you'll need a good primer to get the paint to stick. ...idunno
