water leak

hey I have a 91 Camaro rs with a 305. every time it rains the floor boards get wet. I've replace all of the weather stripping the front of the car. I also check the cowl because I've heard of the problems there but nothing. the only thing I can think of would be the windshield sealing got bad over the 10+ years the cars been alive.
any thoughts or suggestions
Thanks

Re: water leak

Windshield and cowl would be the prime suspects if all your weatherstripping is in there proper. Did you check for rust in the cowl under the screen where the wiper linkage is? A member here had a similar issue and only found the rust when he pulled the entire dash out. I hope that's not the case for you.

Re: water leak

I did check under the screen but it was kind of a glance and it looks good to me I didn't pull the wipers and take the screen all the way off though. however I suspect the windshield because the trim comes almost all the way off on the passenger side.

Re: water leak

I have had the same issue with my 91 convertible. I was able to see that the water was coming in where the cowl met the floor pan/ toe wall just about where the steering column goes though the firewall. the seam sealer had dried out, letting water come in. I did a easy "Band-Aid" job and sprayed the area with Flex Seal ( yes, I REALLY bought it). It solved the leak issue. But like I said, this is a Band-aid until I have the funds to fix it right.

Re: water leak

see I cant find where its coming from though. I can follow it all the way up and then it stops with entrance that I can see. so maybe it is the seam sealer. but the firewall heat shield isn't wet up further either.

Re: water leak

so I'm pretty sure that the water was coming into the corner of the t top seal. then running all the way down the A- pillar. thus making it look like it came from the windshield.
