I saw in a mag the other day a thirdgen camaro with the lower part of the consel carpeted. Was this an option or what. it didnt say if it was a custom job or not. thanks for info.

 

yes it was an opt. if u order the custom interor it came with carpeted console and the panels that went around the trunk were carpeted as well

While the carpeted console was part of the custom interior, the carpet on the panels in the rear were a separate option from the custom interior. From what I've seen over the years, I would guess that less than half of Camaros equiped with the custom interior also had carpeted rear panels.

My 84Z came with the carpeted lower console and carpeted rear panels. I personally didn't like it much so when we had the interior redone we had all the carpet removed and replaced with thinner seat material.
