So I know the inside of the door handle has a skinny metal rod used to activate the door latch. My question is, how does it all go together? I bought a new exterior door handle, and now I cant get it to work from outside the car. I put the plastic clip back on the rod to the handle and slid the rod into the hole on the top of the latch. It still won't work from outside the car.

 

If it was working before then I would check the rod to make sure it didn't get bent when you were installing the outside handle if it was bent during the install then it may not have enough travel to push the latch down then check we're the rod meets the latch and make sure the rod didnt come off the latch
