new third gen owner!

hey guys just got a new 1989 camaro rs! for christmas and am really excited! it came with a 2.8 v6 bc i got in trouble with my fathers truck. but as i build up my money it will have a v8 in it. i had a question about my front grille. i recently got it painted white and as i look around i notice that they didnt paint the original grille it came with. it has a aftermarket grille that is all black and covers up the original. is the original grill replaceable? this is what the grille i have on it looks like

Welcome to TGO!. Your image doesn't show but these would be the stock grills. First is without fog lights, second is with.

Ya the grills were not painted as far as I know, as with a V6 I don't think those came with foglights so your should have came with the more solid looking one.

But if you wanted to add foglights, you can get some that look almost stock at any parts start and then get the grill that was meant for fog-lights and it will look OEM.

Re: new third gen owner!

Congrats. Im a recent arrival too. Owned an 85 Firebird in 1994, a 91 Formula from 95-99, and have been out of the 3rd gen arena since then until I found a 92 Formula last month almost exactly like the 91 I had. 92's are rare, esp with the 5.7/t-top combo I found. This is a great forum. Ive learned a lot just in the week or two Ive been on here. These guys know how to do about anything, just ask.
