I want to try and repair, if possible, the hatch shade. The dumb thing doesn't retract anymore and gets all bunched up when the hatch gets shut. Anyone ever messed with one of these?

 

yea it's just like room darkining blinds... Take out one end at a time, and wind up the tab so it wants to retract the cover with more force. vice grips make this easy. carefull not to let it spin back again, replace that side, and repeat on the other
