Car squeaks bad

I have noticed it since I bought the car, but now I want to fix it. When I am driving there is a squeaking noise coming from the hatch area on the passenger side, I think. Has anyone else had this problem, that knows how to fix it?? Also when I back out of my driveway my car makes a weird flexing noise, please reply with some info. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure you're not driving my car? I have got the exact same problems. I am hoping a set of Subframe connectors from Spohn (www.spohn.net) will fix the flexing sounds, but I have no idea how to find out where the hatch sound is coming from, or how to fix it. If any of you guys knows how o fix it, let us know! Thanks.

The squeaking from the rear you are talking about is most likely the upper shock bushings. The bushings compress and allow the shaft to rub on the body and squeak. For mine, I bought new bushings, used dielectric grease, and added as many washers between the shock nut and the bushing as I could to compress the bushing.

As for the creaking when you pull into a driveway, the weak design of the body causes a small amount of that, but there shouldn't be too much. Make sure you have the rubber bumpers on the rear hood height adjusters on the hood hinges. They are just rubber caps that fit over the adjusting bolts. Other than that, sagging doors, and T-Tops that don't fit right can also cause creaking. Subframe connectors will for the most part eliminate most if not all of the remaining creaking sounds. Good luck.

What are the best bushings to buy, an where do I get them?

Hey i just has this problem! Have you done a lot of spirited driving lately? Check your tire where that noise is coming from, if it's balder or bald than the other tire you just need to tighten the nut on the shock. Mine was virtually all the way off and i was wondering why i wasn't getting any traction.. I think you have to take out the seats and lift up the carpet, there's a little pad covering it and there it is.

This must be common because mine does the same. It almost sounds like a plunger and is definitely coming from the passengers side. Could it be the shock? I've pressed down on both sides of the rear and the shocks seem fine. I have just replaced the hatch lift supports and noticed that the passenger side one doesn't seem as "strong" as the driver side one. Could this be causing the sound? I can reproduce it easily in my driveway (which is quite steep). I put it in neutral and let it start to drift backwards. I then firmly apply the brakes and hear the "plunger"! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you got a pic of these? I have some groaning and creaking and a really annoying metallic screeching. Found out the metallic noise was the front bump adjusters on the hood needed to come up a bit!! It made such a difference.

So I can adjust the rear of the hood up for a bit more clearence?

As you may have guessed I am on a mega rattle elimination mission
