what do you think of painted bezels

i have a 3 guage pillar setup and was thinking of painting the bezels kandy like the car for something different. anyone else painted theirs?

what do you think about this?

Sounds like a good idea as long as you do both sides, and don't go overboard. I think that bringing a little outside color to the inside is a nice touch that isn't used enough on newer cars.

well i'm not talking about painting the whole pillar. just the circular bezels that surround the guages.

oops, me bad. I think that would look good too, especially if your gauge faces are white. How about creating some bezels out of aluminum to fit around your dash gauges (actually around the openings on the plastic cover), and painting them candy too?

all ideas i have been contemplating.......just don't want to go to crazy and look like an import.

i'm mainly looking for some subtle ques that you see in old custom hot rods. give it a custom yet respectible look.

While trying to balance awsome with tacky is always tricky, I don't think you could ever make your car look like an import

it's really hard to come up with custom ideas that will look right and i'm starting to run out of them; it's just an idea for something a little different. for some reason i'm not one for painted interior pieces ie:dash, vents, centerconsoles, etc. but i've seen this done in older cars and thought it might look alright.
