Removing spoiler vs hatch

I have an 85 trans am with the standard pillar spoiler and a 91 GTA parts car that the rear quarter got buckled. I was thinking about using the 91 spoiler on the 85. Just wondering what would be the better decision whether to just remove the spoiler and custom fit it onto the existing hatch on the 85 or swapping the entire hatch? My concern would be the alignment of the 91 on the 85. My hatch right now is a perfect fit and I'm worried about altering it. I know that the 91 with the quarter damage has twisted the rear end and has thrown the hatch about 1/2" out of whack. Visually the hatch looks fine tho. Any suggestions?

Id just swap the hatch. Much easier than having to drill new holes, fill old holes and then you have to figure out how to mount the small ends of the spoiler to the hatch. I swapped my 86 hatch for a 91 hatch years ago.

Re: Removing spoiler vs hatch

I'd do the hatch as well. Easy to do if you use a large box to hold it place when you undo the bolts. If it doesn't line up then decide if you want to do. I'm not as familiar with TA's/GTA's, but some spoilers are difficult to remove from the deck lid without damage.
