Paint prep Noob

Hey guys I'm getting my 88 camaro ready for paint and I'm trying to save some money by doing the prep work myself. Trouble is I have never done this before so I have a few questions
1. Do I have to sand all of the old paint off of the car? And what grit sand paper should I use?
2.I am doing a conversion from my IROC style gfx to the aero gfx can anyone send me a picture of the mounting tab for the front spoiler to fender?
3. I have a fiberglass hood with some spider webbing how do I get them out so it won't show through on the new paint job.

I have a few more questions but that's a good start lol thanks in advance guys.

A good looking paint job comes from the prep. The actual painting is a lot easier than the prep work. I would at least let a body man do the hood most fiberglass hoods require a bit of work to look and fit good.
