Back Defrost

Quick question.
I have a 91 camaro with hatch defrost. The strip and wire was torn off the driver side hatch. Anyway i could solder something together to make it work again?
This winter is killing me. Big time.

Tje only thing missing is the part on the hatch? Is the wire still connected on the inside of the car? The wire, if it's not sticking out by the rear cargo cover on the drivers side, is probably cut underneath the interior piece where the speaker is. I just replaced my wiring and cut way back up on there to get to good wiring.

All the defroster is, essentially, is a big resistor that heats up when you put a current through it. You might be able to solder a new part on to get it to work again, use the other side of your hatch's connector as the example. However....your best bet might be to find a new hatch.
