Turn signal lever part number?

I'm not sure if this is the right spot for this, but its an interior part so I'll give it a shot. If its not, sorry, just move it please.
Anyway, my turnsignals didn't work when I got the car, so I replaced the flashers and then they kept blowing the fuse. So I put a circuit breaker in and all has been fine until now. Now when I flip the turn signal on, it won't blink, it just stays solid. When I do the right one, it often gets stuck on when I return the lever to the "off" position. My dad said it could just be the lever, does that sound reasonable? If so, whats the part number on a new one so I can start lookin for one cheaper than at the dealer. Thanks guys.

What lever you have now? Cruise? Delay wipers? there are a bunch of different ones.

Inside the column, there are the guts that turn the signals off. That might be messed up and not the lever.

The lever I have now has cruise and delay wipers. Its from an 89 IROC, if that helps.

Chanses are it does NOT sound like the actual lever. If you buy a lever, your only going to get a stick that you plug in. It sounds more like the actual switch inside the column.

As for the light staying on, check & make sure you don't have any burnt out bulbs... I have actually seen that happen. What happens is the fuse that "clicks" to turn on & off your blinker does not get enough current to trigger the reaction. Inside the blinker there is a contact that when it gets hot it breaks contact, then when it cools slightly it reconnects the contact & it cycles. If there is not enough current to heat up the reaction, the light could just stay on.

Thats how I understand it...

After re-reading your post, start chasing the wires in your car to make sure there is nothing grounded out...
