Rust on my 88 Iroc

I pulled the carpet when I swapped the t56 into it and found a rust hole on both kick panels. Didn't look real bad so I didn't think much of it. Pulled the passenger fender liner this evening and it's much worse than I thought. I'm pretty bummed. I'm seriously thinking about parting it now.

Very irritating but very repairable. Have seen much worse.

Yep...discouraging, but don't let it throw you. It's repairable.

Re: Rust on my 88 Iroc

Thanks for the replies. Would it be easier to find a donor car and cut our what I would need to replace it?

Dude, keep it and just take your time repairing it. Look at restoration videos before and after, it will motivate you.

P.S. I am the guy who tried buying that car off of you 2 different times lol

Find an RS car and cut it up to fix the IROC.

No need really get a rust stripper wheel and a cutting wheel from local hardware and remove rust and cut out raggedy pieces, 16 guage from local metal supply store, cut to fit and weld in.

Not that I know of. You should bring it down to my house someday so I can talk you into keeping it. I'm sure the rust isn't as bad as what it may seem. You have a desirable car. I'm in Nicholasville BTW if you ever wanna stroll by.

Re: Rust on my 88 Iroc

I've already pulled the fender off trying to get a good look at the rust. I'll bring the GTA over some time. I'm going to pull the engine and trans out of the Iroc and sell the body
