My 1988 Iroc-Z Convertible Restoration
Hello everyone I have been a member of 3rd Gen for about 5 years now, what a great site. This is my first time posting anything so I figured I would post my Iroc as I am still restoring it. I bought this car about 8 years ago for $1000 from a friend of mine and I have been restoring a little at a time and I just got it painted and running this year. You will see the beginning when I first bought it up until now. Car is still not finished. It is a 1988 Iroc-Z with a G92 package. Its a 305 with a 5-speed with 61,000 original miles. All of the restoration I have done myself including body work and paint. This is the first time I have done body work or painted a car. I got alot of information from this site. The paint is the Summit On Fire Metallic Red with 3 coats of base and 3 coats of clear. Very close to the original paint. I hope I posted this in the right place. I have alot of pictures that I will be uploading.

Do you plan on changing out the convertible top to a tan one. I wish my cars interior was tan I would have defiantly gone with the tan top.

No I'm going to keep it black when I do end up changing it. I had the tan interior, I changed to to the black and grey interior. It is used but in excellent shape so I will use it until I save up for new interior of the same color.

Installing interior. It is used from a donor car, but using this until I save up for new interior. The carpet and door lock and window switches are new. The seats and door panels are actually in pretty good shape.
