Leaky hatch glass. Ideas?

So all the snow melted and I decided to take the car to the grocery store. When I opened the back hatch to put the groceries in I could have put goldfish in there? Large puddle.

When I got home and looked at it the rubber seal is fine and it appears the water is getting at the back of the glass where it goes under the metal. I am drying everything out now as I type.

Without replacing the glass or pulling it out has anyone tried sealing that bottom part of the glass where it goes under the metal? If so, how did it work and what did you use?

Thanks.

My Formula was doing the same thing. Used the item below to seal it and automotive color matching duct tape to finish it up. Good luck.

Dum Dum....that's what the techs at our Chevy dealership used to call that rolled putty. Used to fix t-top leaks MANY times. They would use it to force the weatherstrip into a tighter shape against the glass.

How did you use it on the hatch?

Formula is up north with my sons. Don't have any recent hatch pictures of it. Rolled a bead until thinned and then wedged it between deck lip and glass the entire length. Then got a thin tear of automotive duct like below in white and sealed the putty against the elements.
