I know anything will fit if you try hard enough but how compatible are these two?

will the whole bumper bolt directly on?

is there a way to put just the ground effect on without the rest of the bumper?

after doing more searching in the middle of the post, I found Redraid's firebird which has the 83 ground effect on an 87 bumper. any thread or anything on how she or anyone did that?

 

It should fit, but it will leave an ugly gap on each corner since the 82-84 front and rear bumpers have a very noticable edge while the 85-90 bumpers are much smoother here.
The whole bumper will fit.

There are ten holes on the lower front bumper that attach to the front ground effects. Same on the rear. There are holes one the lower edge of the front fenders and rear quarter panels to hold the sides in place.

 

if you want to run the 83-84 aero gfx you need the matching bumper covers. I believe the internal honeycomb support is also slightly different.
