Re vibration found

Started the flex plate removal and found yet more things wrong. I found that the previse owner did not put but half bell housing bolt's . 3 is all I found and only at the mid part of trans. Flex plate is cracked all the way around going back togother tomorrow and see what happens.

That is normal for the 1-piece RMS crank. The external counter weight on a 2-piece RMS crank gets "moved" off the crank, to allow the seal to fit over, with the weight moved to the flexplate/flywheel to maintain "internal" balance.

Re: Re vibration found

Flex plates crack like that all the time; very common actually. Their usual and accustomed failure mode.

Worse, I know of more than one car whose owner refused to believe that that's what was making all the racket, and scrapped the car. What a shame. (well, maybe not... happened to K-cars ALOT)

Glad you found the problem and didn't waste a bunch of time money and effort on "replace engine".
