3m carbon fiber wrap

3m carbon fiber wrap

Wondering if anyone has used the carbon fiber wrap on the decklid? I have seen badnblk use it on his t tops, ill be replacing mine and was interested in doing this. Thanks

Vinyl isnt extremely hard to work with, but make sure you buy the air release/regress products. They allow air bubbles to "seep" through the vinyl over time.

Always prep the surface also, and claybar it to remove any contaminants. If it looks clean from the get go, it probably isnt. Prep is everything when applying vinyl!

You may want to look into some knifeless tape also, unless you have a very steady and accurate hand with a blade. Goodluck!

Awesome man, thanks for the info ! The replacement decklid is a different color than my car but i thought the carbon wrap would look nice on there. The decklid has some nicks in it, should i prep the lid as if i was going to paint it(fill in the nicks with putty and sand it and clean it) and then wrap it? Thanks again

i wrapped my decklid with 3m's carbon vinyl. i can say unless its a pretty big defect the pattern on the vinyl wont allow much to show through.
