I have a 92' RS Camaro, as of right now it's been primered but I've been back and forth with what color I should go with. Just wanting personal opinions with the wheels I have on the car that are 17' American racing torq thrust 2's.

 

Unless it's a color you REALLY hate, I'd always lean toward the original color. This saves having to repaint all of those little areas that are not otherwise refinished in a respray. It would bother me more to open the spare tire compartment and see red paint on a green car than a lot of other issues would. But that's just me.

Well the original color is one most kinda love or hate. The car was originally "Purple Haze" I personally don't care for that color much but I completely understand what you mean about refinishing the areas that would be the factory color. Thanks for your opinion!

Haha. It's definitely not a bad looking purple to be honest. Just looking for something different. Loving your 88 TA ! There was a guy I went to school with who told me he HATED my Camaro (Mostly because it was a GM product and he was a diehard biased Ford guy.) but bye the end of the year he had a car just like yours! Not sure how you HATE something with so many simarlarites.

 

I am in the middle of doing the body work on mine and will do a complete paint. Jamming these Camaros is not all that difficult. i am not gonna respray anything that isn't visible when the car is together for instance the underside of the roof panel etc. I am leaning towards one of two colors, but both are 3 stage paints and will cost more. I work at a body shop so with the discount on materials and pretty much free labor I am not worried about the extra cost. If i do a color change from red it will be 1 of 2 colors from GM. Leaning toward Jetstream blue Metallic because my daughter wants a blue car or may go with Crystal claret which is a maroon color. I love both everytime I see them. Just my 2 cents!!!!

I LOVE the purple haze as well, I would go with that for sure.

 

I'm a sucker for black, blue would look great too

 

Although "gloss black" shows everything its always a great color and those wheels would really finish it off nicely.

I went with a custom "rally red" with custom "black" stripes.
Love it.
Although my car was red to start so it was an easy choice.
Especially when I had this color mixed up.
