Hardtop overhead console in t-top car...

Alright I went to the junkyard today and found an overhead console laying in a wrecked 82-86 Berlinetta. It was in very rough condition so I got it for $15 went home cleaned it, rewired it, and fixed the flashlight. When I was searching to see what color wires do what, I found that the Hardtop and T-top version are not interchangable and remeber that the car I had gotten it out of was a hardtop. So what is invlaved in getting it to fit? Or does anyone want to trade?

Thanks for reading,
Matt

The ttop consoles are flat, the hardtop consoles have a bend in the middle. If you can post a pic of it here (high detail) I might be interested in trading a mint ttop console chassis for the hardtop chassis.

Myt camera broke so I'll describe it. I was getting ready to put new buttons becouse the old ones did not work so there are no buttons but all wires are there and ready to hook up to the buttons. The plastic is mint, very shiney, the leather bag is clean and flawless, except the thread where it was sewed looks brownish (not sure if it is always like that?). The swivil light swivils fine. It is also missing the light cover. Other than that everthing looks and works excellent.

I'll trade you...and you can keep the leather bag, light cover, and buttons so you can put them on my hardtop one if you'd like. I can send $$ to make up for it too...But I get to keep my flashlight I sanded down all the contacts to get that thing bright and bright it is!

Thanks unforgivin, we know you can make anthing work. If I tried it I'd mess it up. After looking at it I don't know if it's possable to do that.

Thanks for the quick replies...

-Matt

I could probably get back to you by the middle of next week... I have a hunch I can come up with an assembly in better condition that what you're working with now, but I need to hit the junkyard and see whats there. The two consoles I have now are 100% mint so I hate to dice and slice them, but I left approximately 7 console chassis laying in a car in the yard. If they're there we could make a deal. If you find a deal in the mean time, go ahead, I cna't make any guarentees just yet.

Yeah don't cut up any mint ones. If you find a t-top one I'll trade you the chassis (w/o the flashlight and leather bag) and $$ for a T-top one with the light cover and buttons, and w/o the flashlight and leather bag. If that made since. Just e-mail me whenever...

You had stated that the console was lying in a Beli correct?I thought only Irocs came with the overhead console option. If this is true, you might actually have the correct console for your application.Might be that the console came out of a totally different vehicle.Came out of a Hardtop perhaps or maybe the T-top version.Someone please clarify which models received this factory option,Thanks.

The overhead console was standard on the Berlinetta, and an available option on all other models. Not many sport coupes got them, since they usually only came on really loaded cars, which usually meant IROC.
