warped front bumper
hey guys
my car had a stupid front plate screwed into the bumper. it was there so long it kinda warped it a bit. how can I straighten it out and can I use bondo to fill the holes. some one told me to use a hair dryer and push it back into shape. will that work?

Probably not much you can do about the warping. You can try the hairdryer, nothing to lose there. As for the holes, bondo or fiberglass will just break out. You need SEM's flexible parts filler, available at automotive paint stores. It is similar to bondo but is made of urethane like the nose and flexes. And remember to use flex agent, it does make a difference.
Just a few bolts holding it on, so not hard. The worst ones are where it is held to the fender. It is a lot easier to paint it when it is off, so go for it. I'd try fixing yours first, nothing to lose if you can't get the warp out, and you'd save money if it does.
SEM also makes a flexible parts stripper which will remove the paint without hurting the urethane. I find this to be a better option than sanding, because it is really hard to get the sanding marks out of the urethane if you screw up, plus they have a tendancy to show back up if the urethane swells (and it will depending on what the humidity is) even if you do get them out. The stripper for urethane takes longer and more effort than regular paint stripper, nature of the beast.
I've never used that type of primer before, so don't know. Ask the counter guy where you bought it.
