Seat track bearing and rail removal/installation

The bottom rail on my driver side seat track is broken. I managed to get the broken piece off because the bearing was all mangled up. The other piece of this track though I could not manage to get off. Anyone know how to separate the rail from the track without hacking away?

Along the rail there is raised metal dimples that stop the bearing+rails from sliding completely out. The bearing has a metal ball about the size of a small grape that will not slide over these metal dimples. I spent about 3 hours getting one broke rail off and back on but couldn't get the other off to weld them together. Really don't want to weld them on the seat and set fire to the whole thing (unless someone has had success with that method.). Any pointers?
