1986 Z28 silver accent color???

I see no trim color code on the "Service Parts Identification" body trim sticker in the glove box. On a black Z28, what is the paint code for the silver ground effects? The '86 upper body silver is WA9021 (13U), is that the same?

The paint store found a page in the old Ditzler catalog with "Special Accent Colors: Camaro, Firebird and Fiero". I've never seen the section before because it's on the bottom of the Corvette & Fiero only page. Code is WA9005 for 'silver poly', and WA9007 for those with the gold accent color.

This info is from a 86 Firebird Order Sheet.I would have to say that being built in the same building(Camaro's & Firebirds) the colors would most likely be the same,13U and 13L.

Re: 1986 Z28 silver accent color???

There are no paint formulas associated with 13U and 13L. They are option codes that can have different formulas depending on the year. The U and L here just mean upper and lower. There is for 1986 paint formula for a '13' and a '13S' as primary body silver colors with formulas, as well as 'a 12' with no clear coat. To buy paint you need a specific formula code for that year option code. The real mixable paint colors starting with "WA" have specific formulas, and as above listed as 'accent colors' you have the right useage. I bought a pint of this accent color silver and it matches the front spoiler silver perfectly.
