My paint code doesn't exist?

Hello,

I am trying to find out the exact upper paint code on my 1986 Pontiac Firebird SE. As you can see by the photo, it clearly indicates that it is 8784. However, upon searching throughout the internet, there is nowhere at all that lists 8784 as a valid paint code number, and thus, I am unsure of what to order in the way of touch up paint. Could it have been a typo? One site lists 8774 as bright red, and 8748 as dark red. The car is candy apple red. Thank you for any feedback.

Regards,
J

Re: My paint code doesn't exist?

I just looked it up on the paint mixing computer at work. wa8784 is indeed a paint code, it's 'bright red used from 1985 to 2005. It's not a candy color, not even a metallic color, just plain old red. If you can't get touch up paint online then have a local paint supplier mix a little for you.

Thank you both so much for the feedback. I will see about maybe using 8774, or I will go to a paint mixer. Best wishes.
