Help with Trim Tag/Odd Decal?

So, my 1983 Camaro Z28 H.O has a strange paint job. The lady I bought it from swore that the decal was original, although I've had no luck finding anything on it. I noticed that my trim tag is also missing a few numbers that others who posted had, such as the hard top/ T top identification. Any insight on this would be very helpful, as I am going to repaint it and want to keep the color original. I know that there were somewhere around 3000 of this exact model registered, and that chevy has done odd paint jobs on low number productions in the past, and considering this was the first year of the L69 High output engine I could see them trying to do something racey. Anyway, thank you all for your time and any help is appreciated.

Re: Help with Trim Tag/Odd Decal?

D is the year - 1983
06 is the build month - JUNE
C - 3rd week
1FP87 - Partial VIN, 1 - USA, F - F body, blah blah just means it's not a Berlinetta.
L - Plant, L is Van Nuys, CA
153216 is the body serial number
22C is the interior code - DK BLU CLOTH
27L 27U are paint codes, 27 is Dark Royal Blue, the U and L designate upper and lower.
W - WATER, as in water based paint.
AR9 - reclining bucket seats.
D W S 161491 - the book I grabbed doesn't say, and since it's nearly 4am I'm not going to grab another book to find possible definitions.

Didn't you ask about this before? Not to be a dick or anything, but there are members on this forum that have been involved with these cars since they were new. Countless minuscule factoids are memorized. Some of us obsess over the smallest stupid little detail. IF GM had a special wild *** disco stripe package in 1983, there's a good chance it'd be documented.

And yes I did ask before, I figured it would be worth it to post the trim tag before covering up the stripes, but thanks again

I was going to say... Because if you didn't, someone did recently.

Just take plenty of photos for your own records. If for some reason you decide to reproduce the decal later, you'll have the photos. But I think you're safe.
