when i hit bumps in my ttop firebird, the kind of pivots up and down making a loud noise. does anyone else have this? is it common? How do i fix it? Also throughout the history of the car a lot of people have closed the doors by the windows and now they are "loose", they go up and down okay but they rattle back and forth, how can i fix? please any help asap appreciated, please.

It sounds like your door hinge pins are worn out. To find out for sure, open your door all of the way, then gently lift up and down on the door. If there is play, your hinge is worn and needs servicing. I have the same problem...

If this is the situation, check the other threads for "sagging door", etc for a full series of dialogs.

This is a common 3rd gen problem.
