Filler panel question
Heitzman's car prompted this question: does anyone know if the Camaro filler panel will fit in place of the metal Firebird panel? Mine is an 84 TA and I plan to do the 4th gen windshield washer bottle mod to this area.
I think this Camaro panel might make that easier. Thanks.
Looking at it again, I realize the headlights are different, so ????
Re: Filler panel question
On the Firebird, that piece is a structural part. Below the top plate, you've got a triangular brace that anchors to the radiator support. Without the steel plate to tie everything together, there wouldn't be anything supporting the bumper cover. Meanwhile, the Camaro has a fiberglass header panel that runs across the entire front bumper for support. So yeah, no bueno.

Re: Filler panel question
If you stropped both cars (Chevy/Pontiac) back to the fenders and core support, I wonder which system is lighter?
Re: Filler panel question
Probably the Camaro. There's a bit of weight in the metal in the Firebird. If you count the headlight mechs and motors, the Firebird front end has to be heavier.
