Re: Need tires.

I’m sticking with the Dorals the previous owner put on before he shipped the car to me. They do everything really well, just as good as any $1000 set of tires I’ve bought in the past.

I’ll stick with these until they make a replica Gatorback Goodyear which was what came on these cars. The gatorbacks were not great tires, but just to have the “brand new” factory look I’d do it..

The other tires out there either look like they belong on imports with giant spoilers,, BMWs, or get bad reviews.. not a lot of choices for stock 16” wheels these days but I wouldn’t want aftermarket wheels either..

Re: Need tires.

I had Futura GTs on my IROC when I bought it in 07 or 08. The tires (and rims) were staggered front to back, and had 225/55R16 fronts and 245/50R16 rears. Tirerack.com has plenty of options in this configuration for right around $310-500. Even Walmart charges $20-25 per rim to mount, and tire disposal fees wander from $1-5 or more depending on locale. You can always take them with you, though, and offer them free on craigslist. A lot of people use old tires for odd projects.
