were there any differences in 82-86 camaro
Hello, as i look at pictures of 82-86 non-z28 camaros, some of them just look different - some seem to me boxier in the front end and maybe a little longer, almost more like a monte carlo. I checked the specs and the 85/86 had overall length 188 inches whereas the 82-84 was 178.5, but all had the same 101in wheelbase so i don't think that is it. I also read that in 85 all Camaros featured "refreshed noses", however i was not able to identify what exactly was "refreshed" about the nose, so i don't think that's what i'm noticing either.
Anyone know what was refreshed about the noses, and were there any other differences that i am noticing? It could just be camera angles and too much car searching too...

Sure. The vents above the center of the nose got smaller. The turn signals got bigger and were nearly flush vs the recessed 82-84 bumper, and the grills changed, again moving much closer to flush.
As an enthusiast that started with an 83, the 85-87 base front end just looks silly to me. 82-84 are more aggressive, and they just look right compared to the later cars that just look lame as hell.

Man, do we have different opinions on this! I think the 85-87 nose softens up the harsh lines of the original, and makes it look a little more sophisticated. To each his own.

thanks for the info on the "refreshed" nose - personally that is so subtle that it doesn't really make a difference. So there weren't any other changes to any of the non-z28 models that changed the contour and made it more box-ish? Maybe the section between the headlights with the 3 vent holes was a bit steeper or something? here is a photo that give me that impression -
