Re: SS hood

I thought that ASCD was the only brand making the SS hood. Haven't shopped around in YEARS so maybe that's changed. ....ASCD has a pretty good reputation for decent fit, but remember it's GOING to need some tweaking.

Re: SS hood

Im not sure who all manufactures them now. I know that the ascd hood that i helped install for a buddy fit really well. But on the other hand the one i had, (not sure of the brand because i bought it 2nd hand) was horrible. It was bad enough that I ended up putting my stock hood back on and getting rid of it. So if there is more than one brand of them out there, i would defintly try and get one from ascd.

Re: SS hood

I completely understand all hoods will need minor trimming & adjustment. But I have seen pics of some of them that are so wavy they look like a ocean. Im looking for the best overall quality hood & ive not seen anyone that can personally vouch for a brand.

Re: SS hood

Picked up a ascd hood, had to shim 1/2” on the driver side hinge to get the hood to close. The latch had to be shimmed 3/8” to get it to latch. Almost looks like when they bonded the top & bottom of the hood it was not straight. Looking at the hood it looks great, very, very few imperfections in the finish. just fits like ***.
