Hi all.
I was looking online at some car videos when I noticed my car looked different. I believe I'm missing the front spoiler. All pictures I see of these cars have them, but mine. I was wondering if someone could tell me where I can get one used/new. I've got an 86 Camaro sports coupe. Here is a Pic
Bottom picture is of an 82-84 front nose. The 86 sport.coupes had a different nose then that of the 82-84.z28 and the 85-92. If you want a chin spoiler you need to change the nose to a 85-92

What about other front spoilers? Did my model come with a front spoiler or was it Meant to look like this? How complicated is it to swap the front?
The sport coupe didnt come with a lower spoiler. If you want that look the entire nose will need to be swapped and a factory chin spoiler installed. Not hard takes a few hours.
The Camaro Sport Coupe only had the ground effects (GFX) in 1988. From 82-87 they didn't have the front spoiler, or the side and rear extensions. The GFX were part of what made the Z28 a Z28. The 88 Sport Coupe went to the Z28 style ground effects, then in 89 the RS was the base model car. So all 88-92 Camaros have the GFX.
It makes the 82-87 Camaros without GFX unique. Similarly, the Firebird Sport Coupe didn't have GFX until about 88 or 89, they were exclusive to the Trans Am or GTA. Starting in around 89, the GFX became so popular on the Firebird, that it's more unusual to see the Firebirds without GFX.
Personally, I like the 85-92 GFX on the Camaro and the 85-90 GFX on the Trans Am, but I have a soft spot for cars without all the excess plastic. They look cleaner, with more of the classic muscle car look. I wouldn't convert a car to add GFX. They're entirely cosmetic and there's nothing special about them.
Thank you so much for the info! I didnt know they were only cosmetic... I do however find it a bit unattractive that the front of the car is higher than the rest of the cars body. I was doing some research and saw that some people use "early" z28 front spoilers which fit. Do you know anything about that? Id really love some more info! Thanks
