headliner in '87 GTA
No, it has to be redone. Temporarily, you can use headliner tacks or thumbtacks, but eventually the headliner will win, and it'll just look ghetto anyway. You can do it yourself, but much like tinting windows, the cost of doing it yourself is almost as much as having someone else do it and do it better, while saving you from the PITA of doing it.

Know what you mean... Mine started to fall to pieces also and got progressively worse with the T-Tops off(All that wind).
After reading the article on this site I got motivated and took it out. I restored the shape and strength by lining the top-side with resin and cloth, then relined it with new foam and grey leather. Bit of a mission but the results were very satisfying.
Cost me aprox' $300.00NZ($130.00US)... Just an option... Regards...

It's not that hard to re-do the headliner. The worst part is getting it in and out w/o damaging the fiberglass. I spent about $30 to do mine, because I have a hardtop, I had 2 buy more headliner fabric. It's about $11 a yd @ Jo-Ann's fabrics, and the adhesive is the 3M General Trim Adhesive in a white aerosol can. Pull the old headliner out, pull the fabric off and brush the disintegrating foam off. Cut and place new headliner on w/ adhesive. Let dry for say a day or so. Put it back in. Good as new.
