t-top center roof rail

I need to replace the t-top roof center rail. I have a 1982 Trans Am. There are stainless steel rails available on line that fit a 1985. Does anyone know if they will fit a 1982 they look exactly the same in the pix. The vendors don't know, does anyone here know?

I believe the 82 t tops have a metal edge around them, so the center bar rail may be bigger to accommodate that

You are right, I got one of the vendors to measure the width of the center bar and it is wider on the 85.
