Trunk stuck?

I'm new here but I've been searching around here and on YouTube and couldn't find a fix so I,m asking on here for help. I bought a 1989 trans am but the previous owner drilled out the trunk lock because the trunk was stuck shut. It is still stuck and I am left with a drilled out trunk lock cylinder and no clue on where to go from there. I was wondering if anyone knew how I can get the trunk open? I dont think the trunk is motorized but I'm not 100% sure. Thank you.

Re: Trunk stuck?

You could try climbing over the back seat and pry the light out of the rear interior panel, through the hole you might be able to remove the 10mm bolt that holds the cable assembly to the physical lock. With the cable out of the way, a flat screwdriver can be used to turn the latch. Of course all of this should only happen after trying the remote hatch release button on the dash, and having someone lift the hatch while you hit the button. Because the hatch struts go bad, and the unsupported weight will cause the latch to lock right away if someone isnt there to open the hatch right away.
