Hi,
I saw a few messages on troubles with the 3th Gen electric back hatch .

Pb : When i press the switch , impossible to open the hatch !

1°) i check the mecanical parts , it seams to work.

2°) i check if 12V arrives when i press the interior swith : KO

3°) I put directly 12V with a wire from the light to test, nothing appens, (perhaps 12V not enough powerfull.)

4°) i measure on my switch i have 12V like picture, when i activate it i hear a little "click" near passager feets (relay ?)


I don't undestand where is my trouble .... Do i have an electric trouble and a mecanical trouble ?

Any help appreeciated !

Can i just plug a 12V directly from battery to troubleshoot the electric part ?

I decided to plug directly a 12V electric wire to the solenoid Power Trunk Release …. Nothing moves.
I thing the solenoid is dead. i can't find this part on rockauto or other website.
Anybody has one to sell or an idea to find one ,and ship to France ?

I’m not sure about the automatics since mine is a 5 speed but my e-brake needs to be engaged to release the hatch. There’s a switch I believe on the brake I believe that grounds out to allow it to work. Not sure if that’s your problem but you might want to engage the e-brake and try again.

 

it's an automatic, but i'm in Park mode , and manual brake engaged. And when i put 12V directly Under solenoid, it does not move . i'm searching for it's original part number fo find a replacment one.
