Re: Trunk issues

Thats typical alignment issues with most third gens.
If its not leaking you have it good and live with it.

Re: Trunk issues

Don’t live with it, fix it. There’s 4 bolts and 2 under the trim inside the car if I recall correctly. Try a google search. There’s a video up on how to fix this. I lived with it and it broke the driver side spoiler off cause it was rubbing. It’s easier if you have two people.

Re: Trunk issues

That's actually not that bad...

Just did a bunch of work to fix the alignment on my hatch(it was much worse than yours) a few months ago.
and honestly if I were you, I would leave it exactly as it is.
Realistically it's a 30+ year old car, that was far from perfect from the factory in many ways, and there is no need for absolute perfection in every aspect of it.

Adjusting the glass is fairly easy if you choose to, there's many threads out there you can use the search function for to find that will walk you through it. Also there should be plenty of threads as well for your trunk that won't open.
Only recommendation there is to get replacement bolts for the glass(the ones that have the plastic covers on the outside)

Adjusting the deck lid can be a pain. Don't do it unless you have someone experienced in auto body stuff to help you.
Trust me. Like you(you said you were 16 in your other thread), I've had my car since I was 16(now 28) and was lucky enough to have some help with learning most things, but other things I was given the wisdom to just leave it be until a later date.
Looking back, that advice was invaluable.

Re: Trunk issues

Has your car ever been in a wreck? The hatch might be mis-aligned because the body is tweaked.

Re: Trunk issues

Yet again the bonding agent that holds the metal to the glass is weak and the two seperate or move.
There is your miss-alignment.
There are a couple threads around here from folks trying to fix the alignment it the hinge adjusting
dont fix it.
