Base vs Aero wing
When I rebuilt my '88 Formula in 2013, the stock hatch had some serious rust and the wing was shot, so I grabbed a base hatch and wing from a '91 bird. Painted it with the car.
Fast forward, I've acquired a fiberglass 1988 style aero wing. If I remember the bolt pattern is significantly different.
My car is locked up in the trailer, but I was curious for those that have great memories, if I pop the plastic caps on the inside I should have the spots to drill out for the gta/formula/aero wring, right ?
Then I just need to weld the other holes shut. There is no change of the base of the wing covering the other holes, right?

Measure, eyeball, measure, eyeball and then measure some more. The locations for the bolt holes are very generous and oversized so it will be up to your measurements and care in regards to how precise you will be when locating the new spoiler.
I checked everything about 30 times before I drilled and still got mine misaligned by almost 1/8" to the passenger side. Luckily it's not noticeable unless you are REALLY looking. Turns out the spoiler itself isn't exactly symmetrical, as in the "wing" part wasn't exactly dead center on the pedestals.

Yes. On the underside of the deck there are plastic plugs that cover the bolt locations for the other type of spoiler.

I gotta figure out the clips for the sides. Looks like it has some aftermarket side clips specifically for the glass wings.
