The rear qtr panels on my IROC are pretty beat up on both sides and rusted kinda bad. I was wondering if it would be better to bondo and paint or buy qtr panel skins and weld them over top and then paint. If I get the skins, how hard are they to put on. Do I have to still repair the dents underneath or will the skin cover that up. I can post pics of the dents so you will know what I'm talking about. TIA

I'm far from being an expert, but in my experience, the less bondo you can use, the better. If you plan on keeping the car for a while, then weld new patch panels in.

I agree. The less Bondo, the better. Also, as a note, I believe that new "skins" don't just attach over the existing sheetmetal. You must cut away the rusted or dented area and weld in a patch panel. They sell rear quarter panels with the sails in Classic Industries etc., but you must cut the old one off first. It's a big job; good luck!
