i'm currently looking at a 1990 IROC being offered at a great price for the condition, the only problem is it has a lambo door conversion kit on it that i hate and the dealer can't tell me what brand was used to do it. this is important because i want to know if it is a quality kit or if it can be easily reversed. the plate that bolts to the body and has the brand name on it was sealed with some sort of epoxy that obscures the name. i have no way of looking myself as the car is currently 700 miles away from me. all i have to go off of is that it IS NOT one of the kits that allows you to open the doors regularly, like the Vertical Doors Inc. kit that i've read allows you to and is a quality kit. does anyone know a list of these kits that only allow you to open the doors vertically, or could help me identify what kit was used? i am still waiting on the dealer to send me close up pics of the door hinges. couple pics of the doors attached...

 

If the seller---who has in-person access to the car---can't or won't help you in identifying the components that were used, it's not likely that anyone here can either. Possibly, multiple close-up photos of the conversion might at least help you to determine if the doors can be reasonably restored back to stock.

Other than that, my advice is to never buy a car off the internet without first closely and carefully examining it in person.
