GFX for a 87 SC

alrite........this is getting agrivating.......first off........i have an 87 Camaro Sports Coupe which I am restoring and making it to look like an iroc......I had the hood put on and painted no problem........now for the GFX........I contacted a few dealers of used gfx and they told me that the IROC/RS GFX will not fit my SC body.........but I asked a few of my friends who owned/fixed camaros they said it should go on no problem....anywayz....I was wondering if anyone has actually put on gfx on a berlinetta or sports coupe and could tell me if it's possible to install them or if i have to buy a whole new back and front end......or if i should say screw it and just buy aftermarket GFX......thanx......

They'll fit once you drill the holes and weld on the rocker panel brace. You will have to get the 85+ front and rear bumpers as well, they are different than the sport coupe ones, but are a direct bolt on. Here is proof it can be done, my 86 Camaro sport coupe with TransAm side gfx:

I have your same problem with my Berlinetta. I went to my local dealer and they wanted $1,600 bucks for ALL of the pieces needed to do it. The spoilers for the front and back won't fit the ones you have with your Sport Coupe, you would need to get new ones of those. Once you have the new bumpers it should go on very easily.

Would aftermarket GFX fit on the SC body?

Is the aftermarket stuff for the Camaro or not? If they are you might still have to drill holes for those to mount.Anyways its not hard to do all of the drilling for the GFX.I did this to my 85 SC a while back and it was a sinch.I had to drill all the holes for the spoiler, the ones for the drv fender, and all the other GFX.The last part is the rocker panel bracket. I'm gonna make them and put them on before I paint the car.Oh yes it took only 2 hours to drill all the holes.Just go to the J/Y and make templates outta carboard or something line them up in the same spot on your car and drill the holes. The Front and Rear bumpers are a direct bolt on.I got my entire front clip, drv gfx, rear quarter panel gfx and rear bumper for 350,and a perfect dash pad for free just for pulling all the parts myself. The pic in my sig doesnt have the side GFX put on it cause I 've been saniding down to bare metal all over the car.
