What is this part

In the picture there is a part above the flow thru vent. What is it & what is it for?

For t-top cars and convertibles. Should be a plastic wedge on your door as well that rides against the metal one.

My buddy in Alberta owns a 1972 Buick GS convertible. His car has the rubber bump on the door & the medal wedge on the door frame. For the Buicks it was for the convertible to stabilize the door.

Yes, It has the wedge on the B-pillar, and a corresponding one on the door to help keep it tight while closed. T-Top models have these as well... I remember seeing my door shift in the rear view mirror while going over bumps before I had my doors fitted correctly. There are also small plastic shims that go behind the wedges on the door...
