How to fix this door skin

I bought this car several months ago and am in the process of an LS1 swap. The body and paint are good (meaning I don't want to have a paint job or body work done for a couple years still...) But this door concerns me. Is there some way to repair this like welding it? Or do I simply need a new door skin?

The pinch welds underneath are also all messed up from improper jacking over the years and the doors and front fenders don't align well... Something a body shop will have to look at I'm sure.

Someone has done a terrible repair at some point in it's life. You are left with no choice but to grind all of that out of there to determine exactly what you have. The door will need to come off, and dig out what's going on at the inner seam, and grind the outer panel to see how much mud is in there.

There's no quick fix that won't result in the same problems you have now, if that's your intent.

Based on the quality of the previous paint job, I would question what short cuts were made and you may have a mess in that door. As others have said, you might be better just getting a new door.
