The complete body damage list, *pictures*

http://www.zero-effect.org/irocz/images/damage.html

Pictures and commentary, anyone wants to tell me if they think I can pull the dent out of the fender let me know. Do my doors have any hope? I want to fix my body damage myself if possible to minimize cost when I paint the car. Can I just bondo the bumper?

I'm gonna do the 180/400 then mothers alum polish deal on the wheels. As you can see at this point I just want them to match, I know buffing is best, but that will just complicate the issue.

my door is banged up also! i thought when someone hit my door it was bad your door is like three times worse looking them mine. the quote i got to fix my door was like 450 with new paint in that area, a new decal, and side molding..

good luck fixing the car up!

the body shop i went to said they go down to bare metal, them weld tabs to the door metal and gently start pulling out the dent/winkled areas, then once its almost perfect they apply the thinnest coat of body filler to smooth it out...

a replacement door would be cheaper/better than fixing that one up. it looks like the impact damaged the inner door brace.

i envy you. the damage some dumb broad left was way worst than that

Hey,
sorry about the car man. Well I was reading your thread, and got some more bad news. Well not really BAD, but not so nice. You cannot use bondo on urethane or anything that flexes, like your front bumper. The good news is, my brother went through the same thing with his 85 z28. He used some epoxy called " Urethane bumper repair epoxy" and it was at a fisher auto supplies store. My dad said he also bought some for his bird at autozone. These are the only stores that we could find them at, in this whole chicago area. The name of the product is either what I said above or very similar. As for cost of repaint, I hope your car is not red. I went to a auto collision place when I wanted a 4"x6" piece of the car blended, and you know what they told me!?! He said between $600 and $800 dollars. He said that red is the hardest color and most expensive because it never blends right. He said if I had a black car, it would of cost me $150 to $300 to fix! Good luck and PM if you cant find the bumper epoxy. Later.

Stealth not to sound mean but is a Camaro really a car for you?? it looks like you have really beaten the hell out of your car. running into concrete blocks in parking lots, backing into your door, front bumper looks like it has rubbed on something at one time or another.the car looks pretty rough. one thing I do have to say is if you are going to have a car like this please have a beater for the winter and store the Camaro, you'll have the car much longer than you will by not missing a single winter with it. anybody that really respects these cars does have a beater for the winter and only drives them in the winter if something happends to the beater. beside rear wheel drive and snow don't mix for a daily driver when front wheel drive is so abundant.

Heya Stealth, that's the same exact place I was talking about. Vince is a hell of a guy. He's got a black '89 Iroc there right now, and I think the doors were in good shape. It has power windows & mirrors, so hopefully that should help you out. Where at in South Jersey are you at? I'm in Cherry Hill. Good luck with your car!

Transam:

I'm 17 and this is my first car. I first though about buying a little economy 4 banger with that in mind. But to be honest what fun can you have in a crappy import? I don't plan on ever selling my camaro (assuming I never wreck it). There's really nothing wrong with it now. A dented door, dent in the fender, little damage to the bumper. That's not a big deal, I do love my car, nothing pulls like a V8...don't care if a Maxima has 255HP, my maro will still smoke tires all the way through 1st. I needed a 1st car, I wanted an American car, and I wanted a car with some *****. I'm a kid and that stuff happens to your first car. Still runs fine, the interior is mint, a 400HP 350 is going in during the summer, and once/if I ever want to, I'm gonna fix the body up and paint her. As for a winter beater, you pay my insurance and buy it for me I'd love to be able to put my car away for the winter but it's just not an option. The bumper damage wasn't my fault, a concorde hit me in a parking lot, the wheel was the culprit of a 17 year old kid having fun in a snowy parking lot with his friends. I know the wheel is my fault, I paid 150$ for a new wheel, and I'm going to have to replace my panhard bar that I bent. The door is just retarded, my contact lens was bothering me, and as I was backing my dad's cavalier out of the driveway (I parked my maro behind the driveway on far side of street, my dad NEVER lets me use his car, had I KNOWN I was going to have to take my sister to the hospital in my dad's car, I would never have parked my maro behind the driveway). All stupid kid stuff, I learned my lesson, I bought the car with my own money, I pay for everything out of my own pocket, I'll be the one paying to fix the body and paint it as well, I have EVERY intention of making my car a cherry eventually. I'm at the ONLY point in my life where I have no responsibilities but to myself, so I'm gonna spend most of my free money on my car utnil I get out of college.

Drop top:

Yea, I told him I would probably need a door in the future and he told me about the 89' iroc he just got in. I'll probably pick up the bumper, door, and fender from him in the future. I'd like to see if I can pull the dent out of the fender and patch the bumper up myself, but if not it's still only like 500$ worth of parts and I can put them on myself (cept for the door maybe). Im in Woodbury, right next to deptford.

I'm just trying to figure out what I need to do to the body so it can be painted. I'm not going to put on the fender/door/bumper and just paint those 3. I'm going to first put in the 350, then once I rebuilt my tranny, strenghten my rear, and do the normal stuff (SFC's, LCA's etc) THEN I will turn my attention to the cosmetics of the car. I want to buy the bumper/fender/door, and just hold onto them until the car is fast. Then once I have the money, I will simply put on the parts, and take the entire car to be repainted black. Put on new iroc decals and she'll look like she just rolled out of the factory. Paint won't come until NEXT summer probably, that's a good thing, I definately don't want to spend the money on paint when I'm this young and bound to get in a couple more fender benders.

Just get a door. I had the same issue, except my doors were rotted. I paid $50 for a used door that was very clean. Don't worry if the door you find has or does not have the same options as you. Power windows and power door locks are all swappable.
