like all the 91/92 firebirds my front ground effect were missing. i bought some originals that were in okay shape and intalled them. i used all the correct hardware and double sided tape where the lip meets the car. the double sided tape is failing and there is now a gap. what am i supposed to be using to stick the upper edge to the front fender?

 

Did you use an automotive grade tape?

 

3M moulding tape.....that stuff will stick forever Also, Hawks sells repros on those parts if you need nice new ones.

i " thought" i used automotive grade but maybe i didnt and thats the issue. i will check out the 3m moulding tape and see what happens. appreciate the replies guys.

 

Clean both surfaces real good with iso alcohol and do it when its warm out, it will stick better. I need to replace mine at some point to and love that Hawkes has them. Try not to touch the adhesive or the oil from your skin creates a weak spot that will eventually come loose.

 

Got to use 3M VHB tape in applications like this.
