Mirrors
Are all mirrors the same throughout 1982-1992?
Or is there a certain year they changed. Also, the firebird and camaro mirrors are the same correct?

The only time the style changed was with the Firebird in 87 when some GTA's came with different mirrors.

If you are referring to the electric remote mirrors there are several styles of the internals. The motor and mount method of the mirror itself are different. Lon

actually, it's just a standard mirror. Not even manual.
But something either broke behind it or the mirror itself rattles.

I took a set of electric mirrors and bolted them into my cable remote control housings, no problems. I was looking through the parts & illustration manual, and it indicates several part numbers for the power mirrors. Looking closer the mirrors were available ONLY as an assembly. At first I thought, gee there different, but in fact it looks like the housing might be the same, The part # changed because the innards changed.
Some of the ealier Firebirds & Camaro's with a non-cable driven mirror came with a paddle style, the glass was the same but it was shorter & really icky. I have only seen one of these, other than pictures & sketches.
The first mirror was from 82-85 RPO (DR1)
the second mirror is the standard mirrors that 90% of all camaros & firebirds got, all the same 82-92 RPO (D35)
the third mirror is the Electric mirror, The part numbers seem to changed a few times, here is the breakdown: RPO (DG7)
Right hand:
82-85 - pt# 20431920
86 - pt# 20625415
87-92 - pt# 10073923
Left hand
82-85 - pt# 20431933
86 - pt# 20625401
87-92 - pt# 10073936
NOT PICTURED the Trans Am paddle type, there is no picture, sinc I think if they broke, they were replaced with the standard electric mirror. RPO (DD9) It may also be possible that those paddle style mirrors on the 87 GTA were exported in 83, and 86-92 on some models with power mirrors. the parts catalog indicates this since DD9 was used on Export cars in those years...
Who knows about those...
