Guys-

Can anyone here give me a step by step rundown of how to remove the door liner and change out an inner door handle?

I had my driver's side handle break on me... inside the door, and just got my replacement one today and need to install it ASAP.

I just need to know how to remove the liner and get to the mechanism to remove it and install the new one.

i just changed the inner door handles 2 days ago not too bad.

take off the arm rest
take off the door panel trim
take off the panel on top of the door (can be a pain)
take off the door panel

the door handle should be riveted in. you have to drill it out and either re rivet it or bolt it in i went with bolting it in cause i lost patience trying to find the right size rivet which i did not have.

 

Thanks man... I'm 1/2 done, everything is off the door and I got that damn rivet off, but now I am looking for someway to re-secure the door handle to the door frame....

Why the hell did they use a rivet to secure that thing and not a torque screw w/ washer?! That's such a pain in the ***!!!

Getting the door liner off was a BITCH... I hate doing repairs like this...
