I was the one that posted about the shaker hood a few weeks ago. I got some good info from the good people on the board.
What kind of shaker were you thinking about? Late '70s Bird, Six Pack? I've been thinking about it since I posted, and I thought it may be easiest to either buy a late '70s setup from the boneyard, (what most people told me to do), or buy a fiberglass scoop from your favorite hood maker and fab your own setup. I was looking in another post and found this link. www.up22.com
They have a nice looking L88 scoop that's open in the back for fresh air. It's on Scoop Page 3. They have a large and small version, and I think the small one would work best on one of our cars. I'm not sure which way I'm going to go with it, still planning right now.
Also, I have an article on cutting your hood that I got from a magazine a while back. Email me if you want it, and I'll scan it and see if I can send it to you.

Look for info on Bandit II Firebirds, they were aftermarket/custom, they had shaker hoods (2nd gen style) I do not know if they were functional.
Yep, I'm actually doing it right now to a TBI formula. Ever since I had a '78 T/A I've wanted a shaker on my 3rdgen.
I'll keep ya posted, but it'll probably be a while---too much going on...
